Start With the Music

By Lars Brinck

Ass. professor PhD Lars Brinck points to the significance of music teachers participating in the mutual musical practice with the children in order for them to have the strong, good music to direct their attention towards.

Brinck’s research on jamming and learning furthermore stresses the importance of musical repertoire allowing many ways and forms of participation and how this develops the children’s ability to invent / create musical parts that they master, consequently actively contributing to the musical quality. Again  participation of ’the adult’ seems to be crucial.
