Project

Genreless Instrument Teaching

By Fredrik Lundin (former employee)

This project has investigated the possibility and the need to develop genre-independent didactic methods for instrument teaching.
The basic assumption is that genreless instrument teaching must take place on the basis of fundamental musical parameters that do not require knowledge of a specific genre. The teaching is not bound to either the rhythmic or the classical music tradition, but rather opens up the possibility of broader artistic interpretation and personal development.

The project is part of RMC’s focus area ‘Development of up-to-date learning environments and teaching practices in the field of contemporary music’, in collaboration with a number of music education institutions in Sealand and Funen, and has been carried out in collaboration with Musikhøjskolen på Frederiksberg (Frederiksberg Music School).
