Admission: Songwriting (S)Requirements
Applicants for the Songwriting programme are assessed in terms of their skills as song writers rather than their instrumental/vocal skills. You are expected to have written a number of songs that is sufficiently comprehensive for us to get a clear picture of your song writing talent. However, we do not expect that your songs have been published or otherwise performed in public, or that you have a contract, e.g. with a publisher or a record company.
Who will sit the entrance examination?
What are the criteria for assessing your application? - The artistic qualities of the songs you have submitted, including their level of originality, creativity and emotional qualities
- Your skills exhibited by the songs you have submitted, including skills in relation to the lyrics and the music, and – if applicable - the production and arrangement
- Your experience as songwriter
- Your professional and educational goals
Dates for the entrance examination The entrance examination will take place in one day in week 3.
The examination is held with a view to beginning studies in August of the next academic year.
If you are selected to attend the entrance examination, you will receive an email on the Monday in week 2, confirming the date and time of your entrance examination.
Illness
In the event of illness in connection with the entrance examination, you must provide a medical certificate if you want to appear for a make-up examination. Dates for make-up examinations will be determined at the discretion of the conservatory, and you will be notified of such dates as soon as possible.
Appearing for a make-up examination at other times will not be possible.
Entrance examination in Danish
The entrance examination for the Sound Technology programme is normally conducted in Danish. However, English is optional for non-Danish applicants.
Based on the submitted applications we select a number of applicants who are offered to attend the entrance examination. Usually, one out of three applicants taking the entrance examination will be admitted to the programme. |
