Admission: Music Performance (MP)Requirements To apply you need to have strong musical qualifications. Your should possess a strong and personal artistic expression and good musical and instrumental/vocal skills.
There are no specific requirements regarding the applicants’ educational background.
Who are eligible for the entrance examination? All applicants applying for the Music Performance Programme at RMC as their first priority will be tested at the conservatory’s entrance examination. You may apply for admission on the basis of one (and only one) of the following instruments: drums, percussion, bass, piano, guitar, voice, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, violin, vibraphone, keyboards, organ.
If your first instrument is not listed above, you need to get a prior approval from the conservatory. Do not submit your application before you have obtained our approval.
What are the aims of the entrance examination? - The entrance examinations shall provide a thorough assessment of your creating and performing qualifications and your potential for artistic development;
- The entrance examinations should give you the best optional possibility to demonstrate the full range of your musical and artistic competence profile;
- The entrance examinations shall furthermore secure, that your background and experiences, your visions for future in the profession and your personal motivation for applying for the programme will be examined.
Dates for the entrance examination The entrance examination for the Bachelor in MP is divided into rounds: round one and round two. - Round one (week 2)
- Round two (week 5)
All entrance examinations are held with the intention to commence studies in August of the next academic year.
Within three weeks of the application deadline, you will receive an email inviting you to the first round of examinations, stating the date and time of the tests.
Illness In case of illness in connection with the entrance examination, you must provide a medical certificate if you want to appear for a make-up examination. Dates for make-up examinations will be determined at the discretion of the conservatory, and you will be notified of such dates as soon as possible. Appearing for a make-up examination at other times will not be possible.
Entrance examination in Danish or English Normally, the entrance examination is conducted in Danish. In the event that the applicant does not speak or understand Danish, the examination will be carried out in English. |
